Join us at a gathering of Black, Indigenous, People of Color Unitarian Universalists for the DRUMMM Bay Area Strategic Planning Summer Retreat. We will build upon the success of the past year supporting 5 in-person and virtual retreats for BIPOC UUs in the Bay Area and beyond!

We ask you to come to the Strategic Planning Summer Retreat “with your wild imaginings of a better world,” as said in the poem by Rev. Leslie Takahashi. Now is a time to reflect on what we’ve done well, strategize where we need to go, and deepen our covenant to one another. What are the gifts you offer? What do you need from this beloved community?

DRUUMM Community Minister Rev. Joseph Santos Lyons will facilitate the retreat. We will consider key questions such as how do we create a sustainable organizational structure that rotates leadership, builds capacity and maximizes resources so every member of the community is able to sustainably contribute their time, talent and treasure? Rev. Joseph will host a pre-retreat session at the August 5th @ 6pm DRUUMM Bay Area 1st Monday gathering.

How do we create a space where no one gets burnt out because each of us takes collective responsibility for what is ours to contribute? What is our unique vision of Unitarian Universalism as DRUUMM Bay Area? We will also be joined by other BIPOC UUs from around the state from the Central Valley and Southern California as we work towards building DRUUMM California!
