DRUUMM/BIPOC Gathering Remembering Amanda Thomas
Friday, May 23, 2025 • 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM Eastern
RSVP for Zoom & Kudoboard private links
Join us in a sacred BIPOC-only space to remember and honor the life of Amanda Thomas, a beloved member of our DRUUMM and wider UU communities who died this week. Held with care by our DRUUMM Chaplain Team—Rev. Manish Mishra-Marzetti, Rev. Katie Romano Griffin, Rev. xolani kacela, Rev. Carol Thomas Cissel, and Rev. Joseph Santos-Lyons—this gathering will offer a space for shared grief, reflection, and celebration of Amanda's life
Amanda was a longtime DRUUMM member, musician, and community-builder who brought fierce love, deep joy, and uncompromising truth to our gatherings. From organizing vibrant Chicagoland events to lifting up new voices in our worship spaces, Amanda embodied the spirit of collective liberation through music, care, and courage. Her presence shaped us, and her legacy lives on in us.
We invite you to share a note or photo on a collective online kudoboard that will be shared with her family.
As we mourn this profound loss, we gather to remember, to grieve, and to companion one another with tenderness and truth. This is a BIPOC-only space for DRUUMM members and BIPOC friends.
Zoom and Kudoboard private links will be provided upon registration.
DRUUMM is Unitarian Universalism’s oldest and largest People of Color collective. We are a front door for new people and a spiritual home that enriches our liberal religious tradition.
