Let's get a couple of drops of spiritual communion mid-week! Join our Vespers leader, Rev. Carol Thomas Cissel, for music, spiritually nutritious fellowship and a few good words. Come as you are and leave feeling refreshed and renewed.
Rev. Carol, affectionately known as Rev. CTC, serves the UU Church of Arlington as Minister of Social Justice & Community Development and is 2nd Vice President on DRUUMM's Steering Committee. From Rev. CTC: "My passions include preaching, working for justice, nurturing individuals, and creating meaningful community. There is no better place to do these things than in a Unitarian Universalist congregation. We are people that care for the world and each other. My ministry blossoms in the company of others who recognize and feel the pain of the neediest and the marginalized and who walk with me as we make it our business to lift others' burdens and ease their sorrows."
This event is BIPOC-only, a sacred space reserved for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color and UU or interested in Unitarian Universalism. DRUUMM recognizes every Community of Color is impacted differently, and each community maintains its own unique identity and culture. BIPOC/People of Color/Person of Color/Community of Color is a political identity of survival and being in resistance to racism and colonialism, one that builds solidarity and creates positive change. White allies with questions or concerns are strongly encouraged to reach out to Allies for Racial Equity.
DRUUMM is Unitarian Universalism’s oldest and largest People of Color collective. We are a front door for new people and a spiritual home that enriches our liberal religious tradition.
