We invite members and BIPOC friends to join a special Southwest Asia/North Africa/Arab (SWANA-Arab) Caucus, with a concurrent and separate BIPOC Solidarity Caucus. We have scheduled a 90-minute virtual gathering on Zoom as an essential opportunity to cultivate deeper relationships, foster cross-cultural understanding, explore ways to support one another, and find solace in community.
In light of the recent horrors and enduring suffering unfolding in Israel and Palestine, along with the ongoing violence inflicted upon the people of Gaza, we stand at a solemn crossroads. Building upon the foundation of the UU Vigils we -held weekly throughout November and December, we are grateful to our members for convening the SWANA-Arab Caucus as a place of sanctuary and connection.
Simultaneously, DRUUMM will host a concurrent BIPOC Solidarity Caucus, offering a space for broader discussions on solidarity and allyship with our SWANA-Arab siblings.
SWANA-Arab Facilitators: Rev. Summer Albayati, Rev. Ranwa Hammamy BIPOC Solidarity Facilitators: Rev. Shari Halliday-Quan, Rev. Kevin Alan Mann
DRUUMM is Unitarian Universalism’s oldest and largest People of Color collective. We are a front door for new people and a spiritual home that enriches our liberal religious tradition.
